Welding robot is a modern and automatic equipment integrating computer, electronics, sensors, artificial intelligence and other knowledge. Welding robot is mainly composed of robot body and automatic welding equipment. Welding robot is easy to realize the stability and improvement of welding products. It can achieve 24-hour continuous production, greatly improve production efficiency, and replace manual work in harmful environment for a long time. Welding robots directly used for welding include arc welding, resistance welding, gas welding and so on.
1、 Components of welding robot
1. Executive part: This is the mechanical structure that the welding robot transmits force or torque and performs specific actions to complete the welding task. Including the body, arm, wrist, hand, etc. of the welding robot.
2. Control part: the electronic and electrical components and computer system responsible for controlling the mechanical structure to complete the welding operation between the specified positions according to the specified procedures and required trajectories.
3. Power source and transmission part: it is a part and device that can provide and transmit mechanical energy for the executive part. Most of the power sources are electric or hydraulic.
4. Process support part: mainly including robot welding power supply, wire feeding, air feeding device, etc.
2、 Selection of degrees of freedom for welding robot
The arm and wrist of welding robot are the basic action parts. The robot arm of any design has three degrees of freedom to ensure that the end of the arm can reach any point within its working range. The three degrees of freedom of the wrist are rotary motion around three coordinate axes x, y and Z perpendicular to each other in space, which are usually called roll, pitch and deflection motion.
When customers purchase and use welding robots, the following aspects shall be considered:
1: The production type of weldments belongs to the nature of multi variety and small batch production.
2: The structural dimensions of weldments are mainly small and medium-sized welded workpieces, and the material and thickness of weldments are conducive to the welding method of spot welding or gas shielded welding.
3: The blank to be welded can meet the welding process requirements of welding robot in terms of dimensional accuracy and assembly accuracy.
4: The equipment used with the welding robot, such as automatic welding equipment and welding positioner, shall be able to coordinate the action online with the welding robot to keep the production rhythm in step.
